Mr Bingley is a charming man and friendly to everyone, but his friend Mr Darcy is a proud and distant man especially to Elizabeth, the second eldest daughter. Darcy doesn’t like to communicate with any woman and considers himself as a wealthy man. This annoys Elizabeth a lot, as she considers Dancy an arrogant and wealthy man. Meanwhile, Bingley develops feelings for the eldest daughter “Jane”, but Darcy disapproves it because of Mrs. Bennet’s traditional thoughts and behavior. To separate them, he convinces his friend to leave Netherland and go to London.
With the passage of time, Darcy realizes his feelings for Elizabeth and decides to go back to Netherfield with his friend, Bingley. As they reach Netherfield, Darcy proposes Elizabeth and Bingley proposes Jane. Elizabeth also realizes her prejudice and apolozies to Mr Darcy expressing her love for him. In the end, two of the daughters of Mrs Bennet get married to wealthy men.
It highlights the importance of recognizing people’s inner appearance instead of judging them by their external appearance.
Pride and prejudice is a wonderful novel that teaches how to judge people’s character and understand their true nature. It highlights the importance of recognizing people’s inner appearance instead of judging them by their external appearance. The book also teaches the lesson that the people who show appearance might not be kind-hearted inside—as they seem. On the other hand, the people who show proud and confidence may have a genuine innocence with them .
Overall, I recommend Pride and Prejudice to every young reader especially, those who are interested in watching series, as this novel has a great connection to television adaptations.
